You can reap remarkable health rewards from regaining balance in hormones that often shift as we age. Our therapy utilizes hormones that are identical chemically to those already found in the human body and are not synthetic.

Background

For more than a decade, hormone replacement therapy (HRT - usually a combination of estrogen and progesterone) has been used to treat menopausal symptoms in women. New advances now provide a much more natural approach using bio-identical hormone replacement therapy ("BHRT"). As we age, BHRT can help both men and women achieve more balanced hormones and experience improved quality of life.

We offer the newest technique in delivery systems for BHRT, a time-released pellet, smaller than a grain of rice, which is placed under the skin.

What is Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT)

BHRT is a way to replace the hormones men and women lose over the course of their lives. Our therapy utilizes hormones derived from natural plant-based substances, and is a natural alternative to synthetic hormone replacement therapies.

Since they are based on natural substances (versus synthetic), they metabolize in the body as nature intended.

How Does Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) Work?

The small BHRT pellets release estradiol and/or testoterone into the body in response to physical activity or emotional stress (either good or bad stress). In this way, the patient receives a steady stream of hormones, helping to keep annoying mood and energy fluctuations at bay.

During the process of inserting a pellet under the skin, the practitioner will make a tiny incision, usually in the buttocks or flank, then inserts the small pellet into the fatty tissue under the skin. The incision is closed without the need for stitches. Of course, to prevent discomfort, a local anesthetic is applied at the insertion site prior to the procedure. (This delivery system has not been FDA approved.)
